My name is Hervé Dieudonné.
A child of the fiery city. I was born and raised in Liège, where I trained in graphic design.
I quickly felt the need to leave the screen behind and return to materials and gestures, exploring as many media and techniques as possible (painting, ceramics, engraving, etc.).

My world revolves around fire and chaos, not simply as a theme, but as raw materials. My approach is nourished by esotericism, symbolism, the world of tattooing, countercultures and the silent violence of our times. This chaos is alive, moving, fertile: it nourishes my gestures, shakes my certainties and forces me to keep moving. It is both internal and external — intimate and deeply connected to the world we live in. My images are born out of this tension. Fire becomes a symbol of transformation, transition, necessary destruction and possible rebirth.

My work is thus rooted in this permanent imbalance, in this instability that becomes a driving force for creation. Painting then becomes a way of organising turmoil, of bringing form out of chaos, without ever seeking to tame it completely.

Je m’appelle Hervé Dieudonné.
Enfant de la cité ardente. Je suis né et j’ai grandi à Liège ou j’ai été formé au graphisme.
Rapidement, j’ai ressenti le besoin de quitter l’écran pour revenir à la matière, au geste, explorer un maximum de supports et de techniques (peinture, céramique, gravure, …).  

Mon univers gravite autour du feu et du chaos, non pas comme simple thème, mais comme matière première. Ma démarche est nourrie par l’ésotérisme, la symbolique, l’univers du tatouage, les contre-cultures et les violences sourdes de notre époque. Ce chaos est vivant, mouvant, fertile : il nourrit mon geste, bouscule mes certitudes et m’oblige à rester en mouvement. Il est à la fois intérieur et extérieur — intime et profondément lié au monde que nous traversons. De cette tension naissent mes images. Le feu y devient symbole de transformation, de passage, de destruction nécessaire et de renaissance possible. 

Mon travail s’ancre ainsi dans ce déséquilibre permanent, dans cette instabilité qui devient un moteur de création. Peindre revient alors à organiser le trouble, à faire émerger une forme à partir du chaos, sans jamais chercher à le dompter totalement.
